Shibani Dandekar earlier opened up about how she relates with Farhan Akhtar’s daughters Shakya and Akira from his first marriage. On podcast Chapter 2, with Rhea Chakraborty, Shibani explained how friendly Shakya and Akira treated her. She also took time to appreciate Farhan’s ex wife, Adhuna Bhabani, for raising daughters who are so progressive to make her feel like she is one if them from the Akhtar family.
Shibani said, “The Akhtar family is super evolved and liberal. They have a way of thinking and approaching things that never made me feel like an outsider. Shakya and Akira have been raised to be incredibly thoughtful. Their awareness of the dynamics within this family is so well understood and accepted that it makes this journey much easier.”
Shibani gave due credit to both Farhan and Adhuna for bringing up their daughters in the manner that is “open-minded, understanding and kind.”
Describing the Akhtars as an “extended blended family” Shibani admitted that yes they do have some moments of troubles and as often face some situation, but for her it is “lucky” that they can speak frankly.
