Shatrughan Sinha talks about late film producer Rajkumar Kohli, says, “He was the best person in the film industry….”

Veteran film producer Rajkumar Kohli passed away at the age of 93 due to a heart attack. He was a well-known personality in the Hindi cinema and made incredible movies such as Jaani Dushman, Nagin, Pati Patni Aur Tawaif etc. He began his journey in 1963 when he directed and produced his first film Sapni.

After the demise of Kohli, Shatrughan Sinha remembered the phenomenal filmmaker. In a conversation with ETimes, the veteran actor said, “He had a knack for making commercial films. He made multi-starrers, and that too with a unique combination of actors, whether it was Sunil Dutt, Feroz Khan, Kamal Haasan, Sanjay Khan, Reena Roy, Rekha, or myself.”


Sinha also revealed that Rajkumar Kohli was the best person in the film industry when it came to money matters. The director used to himself go to the actor’s house and give them payment.

The actor further added that Kohli was leading a simple life even before his death. He was disciplined about everything in his life, whether it be going on a walk or having his meals. He was punctual in terms of everything.

Shatrughan Sinha even shared a small incident which happened years ago. He had gone to meet Kohli with his wife. When it was time to return the film producer handed them Rs 11,000 as shagun in an envelope. That was very touching.

The actor also intended to meet Kohli at his residence with his wife and Pahlaj Nihalani. He further said that Rajkumar Kohli was a great father and very fond of his son Armaan.
