Shatrughan Sinha recalls the 69th celebration of Rishi Kapoor’s birthday, says brother Randhir was silent

Actor Shatrughan Sinha in his recent interview describes being emotional during the 69th birthday celebration of late actor friend, Rishi Kapoor.

Last year Bollywood lost its brightest star, Rishi Kapoor the second generation of the Kapoor family who ruled the hearts of the audience during the 80s and 90s. He succumbed to blood cancer or leukaemia on 29th April 2020. The whole of Bollywood mourned the death of its charming superstar.

On the 69th birthday of the actor, his family celebrated his birthday at Rumi Jafry’s house. Actor Shatrughan Sinha was also invited to the party which included the actor’s wife, Neetu Kapoor and brother Randhir Kapoor. Even the late actor himself was present in the event in the form of a cutout.

In a recent interview actor, Shatrughan Sinha gave insights into the celebration. He recalled that the whole family was trying to accept the loss in a happy manner. But the actor’s brother, Randhir Kapoor was silent and grieved from inside.

Shatrughan Sinha said, “The get-together was a sort of a celebration but it was the acceptance of the situation which we need to praise here; it got emotional, Randhir was a bit quiet and not his usual self. But then, we understand how close Randhir was to Rishi. Add this to his another loss this year when Rajiv Kapoor passed away in February.”

The actor’s wife, Neetu Kapoor shared a few pics of the event, including the birthday cake which was no ordinary one. The cake had all the belongings of Rishi Kapoor which he loved like his favourite dish, Mutton Curry, a whiskey, a symbol of Twitter, a guitar and a cassette of songs which he loved to listen.
