
Actress Shamita Shetty, the second runner-up of ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ and currently contestant of BB15. She has been grabbing headlines since the day she stepped into the Bigg Boss 15, her brother-in-law Raj Kundra (Shipa Shetty’s husband) got apprehended in the pornography case. However, in a recent interview, Shamita opened up about the crises she went through when she entered in the Bigg Boss house. It was just days after Raj Kundra’s arrest.
Shamita also expressed about the ‘personal crisis’ that her family and she went through. Shamita quoted, “It was very difficult for me the first time around, because the situation was very different. I was unfortunately being heavily trolled for no fault of mine. My family also, at that point in time, felt that it’s better for me to just lock myself in that house. And also it was a previous commitment, and I didn’t want to back off because of everything that happened. I wanted to stick to my word and continue. As they say, ‘The show must go on’.” She further added, “Honestly, at this time, people have been sitting at home with no work; they’ve lost work. And I’m being paid to sit in a house, why would I say no?”
However, it is not the first time Shamita opened up about her personal crisis. In previous show, Shamita during a conversation with Raqesh Bapat on the show, shared the obstacles she has confronted in life and getting compared to her sibling Shilpa Shetty Kundra constantly. During the conversation, she also expressed, ‘I grew up mostly with my father around. Mom was traveling with Shilpa for obvious reasons. Vo akeli thi industry mein. I think I was 13 or 14 when she joined the film industry. So, I felt like I faced a lot on my own. And I had toughened up on my own.’ Actress also shared to her co-contestant Neha Bhasin that she went through an emotional breakdown when she lost her first boyfriend at the age of 18. She said, ‘It was a big jolt for me emotionally and it changed me overnight. And I have had to fight my own battles always. I joined the film industry, there were too many explanations, too many comparisons. It hasn’t been easy for me.’
