Nayanthara’s character Narmada as a single mother in the film Jawan was praised by Shah Rukh Khan, who conceded that she ‘couldn’t find more screen time but was great.
On Friday evening, SRK delighted fans by hosting a “AskSRK” interactive session on X. During the discussion, one of the attendees praised Nayanthara for portraying the storyline of a single mother in the film. King Khan responded to this and said, “I also felt that the story of Narmada as a single mom was amazing. Unfortunately in the scheme of things couldn’t find more screen time but as is was also wonderful. #Jawan.”

Jawan, which was released on September 7, has surpassed the Rs 900-crore milestone in the global market. It is now aiming for a Rs 1000 crore valuation. Jawan was SRK’s first collaboration with filmmaker Atlee. The film earned overwhelmingly positive reviews from audiences and went on to become the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film.
The film earned Rs 7.25 crores on Thursday, bringing its total India earnings to Rs 473.44 crores. Following the film’s success, the producers arranged a press conference in Mumbai. SRK, Deepika Padukone, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, and Atlee were among those who attended the event.
Sharing his excitement for the success of the movie Shah Rukh Khan said, “It’s a celebration. We rarely get a chance to live with a film for years. The making of Jawan has been going on for four years due to Covid and time constraints. There were a lot of people involved in this film, especially people from the South who came and settled in Mumbai and have been living in Mumbai for the last four years and working day and night for this film, which is the hardest work ever.”
Nayanthara, Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Lehar Khan, Girija Oak, and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya play roles with depth and strength in Atlee’s Jawan.
SRK also disclosed the release date of his upcoming film Dunki at the Jawan success celebration. “We began on January 26, Republic Day (with Pathaan), then on Janmashtami we released Jawan, and now that New Year and Christmas are approaching, we will release ‘Dunki.'” I maintain national integration. Anyway, it will be Eid when my film is released. The film is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and stars Taapsee Pannu in the major role. ‘Dunki’ is the first cooperation between the ‘Chak De India’ actor and ‘3 Idiots’ director Hirani, as well as the ‘Pink’ actor Taapsee.
