Alia Bhatt is on cloud nine after winning the Best Actress Award for her portrayal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, her first National Award. Kriti Sanon, who won for Mimi, which will be released in 2021, shared the prize with the actress.
Alia Bhatt’s close friend Shah Rukh Khan congratulated her on her huge win. Shah Rukh and Alia appeared in the 2016 film Dear Zindagi. They also appeared in Brahmastra: Part One, in which Alia starred with Ranbir Kapoor and Shah Rukh in a prolonged cameo.
On the professional front, Shah Rukh is presently preparing for the release of Jawan, which also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and Sunil Grover. It is set to be released on September 7. Next, he has Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki in the works, with Taapsee Pannu in the lead.
Alia, on the other hand, was most recently seen in Karan Johar’s romance comedy Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, in which she co-starred with Ranveer Singh. She just made her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone, in which she co-starred with Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.
