Sayani Gupta lashes out on Shah Rukh Khan for his Gandhi Jayanti’s posts, says ‘Don’t just shut your ears and eyes and mouths’

Sayani Gupta lashed out on the silence that Shah Rukh Khan indicated in his tweet on Gandhi Jayanti given the happenings in Uttar Pradesh.

On 2nd October India celebrated the 151st birthday of “Father of the Nation” Mahatma Gandhi. King of Romance, Shah Rukh Khan, found this to be a prime opportunity to send out a controversial tweet that caught his co-star’s attention, Sayani Gupta.

As we all know, Mahatma Gandhi was all about truth, standing up and fighting back against during the British Rule. Celebrities flooded Twitter with thoughts on the message of Gandhi’s story.

Shah Rukh Khan shared his thoughts about the values Gandhi taught him and his children. Here’s what he tweeted, “If this Gandhi Jayanti there is One ideal we would like our children to follow, in good times, bad times and all the time….it should be Hear no bad…see no bad….speak no bad!  Remembering the value of truth on Gandhiji’s 151st Birth Anniversary.”

Within seconds of posting that tweet, Sayani Gupta, his co-star in Fan (2016), lashed out at him about the silence indicated. She countered back saying that silence is not the answer especially during our current circumstances in Uttar Pradesh.

She tweeted, “Say something. The Right thing. Gandhi also taught us to speak up for the Truth, the downtrodden, the exploited, for our Dalit brothers and sisters. Don’t just shut your ears and eyes and mouths.”
