New Delhi, March 11 (IANS) In the most recent development in the case involving the death of renowned Bollywood actor-director Satish Kaushik, a woman who claims to be the wife of a businessman with headquarters in Delhi has claimed that her husband allegedly murdered Kaushik for Rs 15 crore that he stole from the actor for use as investment in Dubai.
In a complaint she filed with the Delhi Police Commissioner’s office, the woman claimed that Kuashik was demanding the money back that her husband had refused to pay.
She claimed that her husband had planned for Kaushik to be killed with certain tablets.
A senior police official had earlier on Saturday claimed that they had found some “medicines” at the farmhouse near Delhi where the 66-year-old actor had attended a party before passing away, allegedly from a heart arrest.
She claimed it was a planned murder in a conversation with IANS, which has access to a copy of the woman’s complaint.
She added that her husband had introduced her to Kaushik, and the late actor had met them frequently in Dubai and India. She stated that she wed the businessman on March 13, 2019, and that they had a child together.
She claimed that on August 23, 2022 Kaushik had visited their house in Dubai and demanded Rs 15 crore from her husband.
“I was present in the drawing room where both Kaushik and my husband got involved in an argument. Kaushik was saying that he was in dire need of money and it has been three years since he gave Rs 15 crore to my husband for investment purpose. Kaushik also said that neither any investment was made nor his money was returned for which he was feeling cheated,” read the complaint.
She also uploaded a picture of Kaushik and the businessman taken at a Dubai party. The woman claimed that the party also included the son of organised crime figure Don Dawood Ibrahim.
“My husband promised Kaushik that he would repay the money soon. When I asked my husband what was the matter, he said that he lost Kaushik’s money during the Covid pandemic. My husband also said that he was planning to get rid of Kaushik,” read the complaint, which also said that her husband deals in various kinds of drugs.
According to the complaint, on August 24, 2022, the businessman and Kaushik got into a furious disagreement about the money.
According to the woman, her husband allegedly said Kaushik that the payment was made in advance thus there was no documentation of it, but he was willing to reimburse it and just needed some time.
“Then I heard Kaushik telling my husband that he had given him a promissory note. Now I read the news of Kaushik’s death. I fully suspect that it was my husband who along with his aides conspired and murdered Kaushik with drugs so that he doesn’t have to return the money,” the complaint read.
The concerned police officers declined to comment on the situation when questioned.
25 guests who attended the party at the farmhouse, according to sources, will be called in for interrogation.
