Late legendary actress Padma Shri Fatima Rashid aka Nargis Dutt marks her 91st birth anniversary today. She was known as one of the finest actresses of Bollywood who died at the age of 51 due to 1981 due to pancreatic cancer.
Nargis married Sunil Dutt after working with him in Mother India. Moreover, she had a special place in her son Sunjay Dutt’s heart. Sanjay always expressed the void he felt in the absence of his beloved mother. Hence, this time again on 91st birthday of late mother Nargis Dutt, Sanju took every viewer down the memory lane by sharing some rare pictures of Nargis on his Instagram handle. He expressed his feelings by captioning the post as, “Happy Birthday Ma, miss you❤”
On the work front, Nargis Dutt was best known for her classic roles in 1951’s Awara, 1955’s Shree 420,1957’s Mother India, 1967’s Raat Aur Din and. Nargis won Filmfare Best Actress Award for Mother India in 1958 and the National Film Award for her role in Raat Aur Din in 1968. She was the first film actress to confer by the Government of India with the fourth highest civilian (the Padma Shri) award in 1958.
