It was on a late Tuesday evening when a piece of news broke out that Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. Dutt is reported to fly to the US for the cancer treatment and the actor’s family and friends are completely devastated with this news.The actor tweeted about taking a break from the work earlier on Tuesday due to his health issues and requested his fans to not worry about his health and contemplate anything. The actor’s social media handles were flooded with prayers and love from his fans.
The Vaastav actor isn’t the first one in the family to get diagnosed by this disease as the Dutt family have had a history with cancer. Sanjay’s mother Nargis Dutt and his first wife Richa Sharma also faced with the same deadly disease. Nargis died due to pancreatic cancer on 3rd May 1981 four days before Dutt’s Bollywood debut with Rocky. The 61-year-old actor’s first wife Richa also lost her life while battling cancer at the age of 32 in the year 1996.
“I lost my mother Nargis and my first wife Richa (Sharma) to cancer. Naturally, I worry if I hear that a close family member has taken ill,” Dutt said this in one of his media interactions while talking about his current wife Maanayata’s ill health.
The actor celebrated his 61st birthday just two weeks ago and even revealed his intriguing first look from his forthcoming release K.G.F: Chapter 2.
