South Lady Superstar, Samantha Akkineni in a recent interview with Pinkvilla spoke about her choice of roles and wide-ranged filmography. She feels blessed to play varied roles like Raji in Family Man Season 2 and Shakuntalam in her upcoming film. She said, “I went on to play Raji like in the dirt, rough, tough and from that, I went to play a Princess in Shakuntalam and it is the exact opposite to Rajji role. These are what like every actor can live for, show diversity in characters and roles…these are what any actor dreams for. I thoroughly enjoyed playing the Princess.”
Samantha is one such actress who likes getting under the skin of the character she plays. Earlier Samantha’s talent was only confined to Tollywood but with the second season of Manoj Bajpayee starter, Family Man she entered into Bollywood. She played the role of Raji, a member of the terrorist organisation LTTE. She was dark, raw and intense and her impeccable performance made the show one of the highest-rated in the world.
Samantha has completed shooting for her next film, Shakuntalam where she is playing the titular role of Shakuntala. In the film, she is sharing screen space with Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha who is making her debut as a child actress. Besides Shakuntalam, she has also wrapped up Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal, with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. Talking about the film she said, “KVRK is out and out comedy, a triangular love story, hilarious and it was super working with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. I believe that is a complete theatre film where people will be hooked from the start to the finish of the film. I’m very excited for these 2 films that I have completed.” https://www.vogue.in/
