Wednesday started on a rather tragic note for the family of Malaika Arora, as her father Anil Mehta passed away after committing suicide.
The last rites of the deceased were held on Thursday, which was attended by slew of celebrities including her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan and his wife Sshura Khan. A couple of hours earlier, Salman Khan also paid a visit to Malaika’s house to offer his condolences.
Arbaaz was among the first ones to reach the location, as soon as the news broke out. He was also seen cooperating with the police officials on scene, investigating the case. Later, his family – brother Sohail Khan, parents Salim Khan and Salma Khan, sister Alvira Khan Sharma – were also seen visiting the maternal house of Malaika.
Reacting to the video, the netizens have applauded the Khan family over their presence. As per the rumors, there were some rift between the family and the actress as she was the former wife of Arbaaz, with whom she shares son Arhaan. However, it seems that the Khan family knows the importance of being there for the loved ones in difficult times.
One of the comments read, “Hats off Salman Khan n his family for the support gvn to Malaika.” Another user wrote, “As they say, Salman aapke celebrations me aaye ya na aaye, par aapke dukh mai aapke sath hoga.”
On Wednesday, Malaika took to her Instagram to issue a statement over her father’s demise.
