Television actress Rubina Dilaik, who portrayed the character of a transgender woman in Shakti- Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, has taken an initiative to raise funds for the LGBTQIA+ community. The actress will be bringing up funds for the community by selling the two gowns that she wore in the Bigg Boss 14’s grand finale.
The Bigg Boss 14 champion told Spotboye, “The day I won, it just suddenly struck me that I wanted to auction my gown- my entry gown to the Bigg Boss house and also the gown which I wore on the finale day. I wanted to raise funds for the NGOs and charities whose cause I can associate with. So this idea struck me the day I lifted the Bigg Boss 14 trophy. I don’t know why, but it did.”
Rubina further said, “Well, the fundraiser will happen by the end of this month. And I have already announced it. This will happen systematically.” She was also asked if she received any direct calls after the announcement. She said, “For now, I haven’t received any direct calls that I want to buy the gown. But it’s a fundraiser so there is a categorical system which will be followed.”
To commemorate Pride Month, the actor and transgender justices activist will give away selected specific pieces for a virtual sale. These include a few of her outfits, worn in the Bigg Boss house, the gown she wore for the finale, and outfits she wore in her music video Marjaney. The earnings of the online sale will finance Color Positive, an NGO that takes a holistic procedure to support the LGBTQIA+ community.
