Ronit Roy comforts Mandira Bedi as she breaks down at husband Raj Kaushal’s Funeral

Mandira Bedi is shaken to the core by the sudden demise of Raj Kaushal. The actress performed the last rites of her husband, Raj.

Director Raj Kaushal called for eternal rest on Wednesday dawn after withstanding a cardiac arrest. Raj was wedded to actor-television presenter Mandira Bedi in 1999. The couple has two children, son Vir and daughter Tara.

Mandira and Raj’s near friends and industry pals hurried to her home after learning the news. Apoorva Agnihotri, Sameer Soni, Ashish Chowdhry were among the first to offer their condolences.

Raj Kaushal’s last rites were held at the Dadar Shivaji Park crematorium in Mumbai on Wednesday morning.

Mandira Bedi’s best friend Ronit Roy, Huma Qureshi and others also rushed to her residence to assist her in the grieving times. In the pictures clicked outside her house, Mandira was seen grieving for the loss.

Rohit Roy confirmed the news of Raj’s death to PTI, “He passed away today morning, at around 4.30 am at his home. He had a heart attack.” He also shared a post on social media, “One of the nicest guys you could ever have met… and if u were lucky, u could have called him your friend… And just like that, he’s gone, even without saying good bye too numb with grief and shock to react… This is not fair, just not fair… Raj, my friend, my brother… keep spreading the cheer where ever your next abode is…”

Director Onir, whose movie My Brother… Nikhil was produced by Raj Kaushal, was the first one to announce the tragic news on Twitter.

Raj has directed movies such as Shaadi Ka Laddoo and Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. His last film as director was the 2006 thriller Anthony Kaun Hai? starring Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt. Apart from direction, Raj had also produced Onir’s 2005 acclaimed drama My Brother… Nikhil starring Sanjay Suri and Juhi Chawla.
