The cinematic world is buzzing following the global unveiling of the first glimpse of Nitesh Tiwari’s “Ramayana” in New York and Los Angeles. Amidst the grand reveals, lead actor Ranbir Kapoor shared a deeply personal connection to the project during a candid chat with AP on April 2, 2026.
Ranbir revealed that his journey with the film has perfectly coincided with his transition into fatherhood, making the experience transformative both professionally and personally. He shared how he returns from the high-stakes shoot only to face the most inquisitive audience of all—his daughter, Raha Kapoor, who is now three and a half years old.
“I’m extremely blessed to have this opportunity… It coincides with my becoming a father,” Ranbir reflected. He described a beautiful daily routine where, after playing Lord Ram on set, he returns home to narrate the “Ramayana” to a captivated Raha. He noted her natural curiosity, sharing how she asks, “Did you shoot with Hanuman today? Did you shoot with Sita today?” For Ranbir, this innocent interest proves that these stories are “part of our DNA and sub-conscience.”
Interestingly, the actor admitted he initially rejected the role four years ago, feeling “not fit enough,” but the birth of Raha in November 2022 changed his perspective. Now, with the first part of the ₹1,600 crore epic slated for a Diwali 2026 release—coinciding with Raha’s birthday—the project has become a “divine signal” and a landmark turning point in his life.
