Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Animal has been the topic of the town in the recent months. The film was buzzed around a lot and received mixed reviews from the audience and critics. Though the film turned out to be the second highest-grossing movie of 2023, it was criticized on a wider spectrum.
The sequel to the film known as Animal Park has been in talks since the release of Animal. In a recent interview, Ranbir Kapoor shared details regarding the sequel.
In an interview with stand-up comedian turned actor Anubhav Singh Bassi, Ranbir revealed that many were unaware of the plot of Animal since its production stage. Bobby Deol didn’t know what the story was about while Anil Kapoor knew the film revolved around a father-son relationship.
There were two to three scenes that Sandeep Reddy Vanga narrated to Ranbir and he found it very exciting. However, there were moments wherein the filmmaker was secretive about the storyline.
Sharing details about Animal Park, Ranbir said that Sandeep has narrated to him 2 to 3 scenes and they are exciting. Since the massive success of Animal, the director is confident about the sequel as well and would like to delve deeper into the story.
From the second part onwards the story will get more dark and complex. Ranbir believes Sandeep can do anything.
Adding further, Ranbir stated that though the film was critically acclaimed, it has started a healthy conversation in society. He shared that films have the power to start conversations. People have started talking about toxic masculinity and discussing as to how much wrong it is. Unless people don’t talk about it, it wouldn’t get recognized.
Animal had its theatrical release on the 1st of December, 2023. The film was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It featured Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri in key roles. The film had a box office clash with Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur, which was directed by Zoya Akhtar.
