On Tuesday afternoon, Times Of India reported, hours after Raj Kundra was produced in Esplanade Court, that he was sentenced to judicial custody until July 23 in the adult film racket that has come to light. The entrepreneur was apprehended on Monday night, according to Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale.
Confirming Raj Kundra’s involvement, the Mumbai Police Commissioner said, “There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this.”
Raj Kundra was taken to JJ hospital by the Property Cell of Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch following his arrest. He appeared before the Esplanade Court in South Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon, along with one other accused, businessman Ryan Tharp. Kundra and Tharp were both placed in judicial custody until Friday.

A per the reports of Indian Express, Raj Kundra was arrested after the Mumbai Police investigated his relationship with Umesh Kamat, a UK production house executive. The production company was investigated for uploading pornographic content to various apps.
