R. Balki is surely one of its kind directors in Bollywood. His filmography consists of films like Amitabh and Tabu starrer Cheeni Kum which portrayed the relationship between a 64-year-old man and a mid-aged woman. His last film was the 2019 film, Mission Mangal and Padman in 2018. He is a director who likes to make a slice of life films picking up issues from society.
But this time he is experimenting with the thriller genre. and for that, he has convinced the ‘He man’ of Bollywood, Sunny Deol. The list is already filled with talented actors such as Shreya Dhanwanthary, Dulquer Salman and Pooja Bhatt. The inclusion of Suny Deol in the team has added experience to the film and R. Balki is very much excited about it.
While talking to IANS the director said, “I am ecstatic to be working with Sunny, an actor whose booming screen presence conveys so much. Am glad he is back and hoping this new adventure will add a new dimension to his glorious filmography.” This is the first time that R. Balki will be directing a thriller film.
When asked about his experience he said, “After months of waiting, it is exciting to start shooting anything. And to make a film in a genre that I haven’t attempted before is even more exciting. I have had the idea for a long time but never quite got around to writing it, and while it’s fundamentally a thriller, it banks so much on these four stunning performers. I just can’t wait to get into the edit room.”
