Priyanka Chopra attended a media interaction at Red Sea Film Festival 2024 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where addressed her films and career in both Bollywood and Hollywood. The actor talked about her iconic action-thriller Don with Shah Rukh Khan.
Sharing insights of her role as Roma from the film, PeeCee mentioned that the film marked her proper entry into the action genre and how it required significant preparation. The global star mentioned that to prepare for her introduction scene in the movie, she learned Tai Chi, under the guidance of director Farhan Akhtar.
Talking about a major takeaway from Don, the actor said, “By the time I came to Don, I had realised that the most important thing to focus on is my craft, not your relationships with your director, co-actors, not how you behave on set, but what you do between action and cut.”
She explained that she began prioritizing detailed character homework to ensure each role felt distinct and said, “A lot of training went into the action sequences in Don, and I tasted blood a little bit.”
Don originally starred Amitabh Bachchan and was penned by Salim-Javed in 1978. Farhan remade the film with SRK in the lead in 2006, and a sequel in 2011. Farhan’s production house Excel Entertainment has confirmed that Don 3 will feature Ranveer Singh in the lead, and has also roped in Kiara Advani.
