Parineeti Chopra, who recently appeared in three films in a row, has confirmed that she made a deliberate decision to select films that embodied the talent she showed when she first started out. She confessed to making a few bad decisions along the way, and said her cousin, Priyanka Chopra, told her to be more picky with the positions she takes.
In a matter of weeks, Parineeti starred in the Netflix remake The Girl on the Train, the long-delayed Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, and the sports biopic Saina.
She said in an interview that she talks with Priyanka ‘about every other day,’ and that her cousin provided her with helpful guidance during a career slowdown. She told a major newspaper, “She was everything a mentor and older protective sibling should be. She has 20 years of experience in comparison to me. When I was doing good work, she would always slap me on the back and tell me how proud she was of me.”
“She used to tell me that if I wasn’t doing my best work, I needed to select roles that would allow me to prove myself as an actor. Now that she’s seen my three most recent films, she says I’m almost back to who I used to be. She’s overjoyed. I chat with her often, almost every day,” she added.
