It seems Bollywood actress and ex-Bigg Boss contestant, Payal Rohatgi is in deep trouble. The actress is currently making headlines after video of her went viral on the social media where she can be seen using inappropriate objectives for Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. Her statement seem to have hurted the sentiments of Congress party as Pune City’s Congress Committee lodged an FIR at the Shivaji Nagar Police station.
Payal Rohatgi’s lawyer on the other hand defended her client by refuting that the video is of 2019 and Payal had already been detained in Rajasthan at that time.
The news went viral after news agency reported it on their official Twitter handle. ANI wrote, “A case has been registered against actress Payal Rohatgi (in file pic) in Pune for allegedly using objectionable words against Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi & Rajiv Gandhi in a video shared on social media, under sections 153 (a), 500, 505(2) and 34 of IPC.”
Reacting to the FIR, Payal’s lawyer said, “Since the morning there is news in the media about my client Payal Rohatgi. We have not got any information or notice related to the FIR.” She went to add that Payal’s social media accounts have been untouched since she was detained in 2019 stating that not a single video has been uploaded since then. Her words were, “From that last video till now, she hasn’t made any controversial video, nor posted any video”.
