Actress Richa Chadha has filed a defamation suit against Payal Ghosh and others for saying the actor slept with director Anurag Kashyap for roles. Payal Ghosh’s advocate, Nitin Satpute, said the statement was made “innocently” and the actor had immense respect for Richa Chadha.
PTI quoted the Legal Bureau of Bombay High Court stating that “Adv for Payal Ghosh, who has been dragged to #bombayhc by @RichaChadha for defamation, tells court statement was made “innocently” and she has huge respect for Richa Chadha. Justice A K Menon asks if Ghosh was ready to withdraw the statement and apologize. To hear matter at 3pm”

Richa Chadha has filed a suit for Rs 1.10 crore against Payal for “tarnishing her reputation” and subjecting her to “immense humiliation, ridicule, unwanted speculation, harassment, harsh public scrutiny and loss of business opportunity and goodwill thereby causing tremendous stress and mental agony”. The hearing is on 7th October, at 3:00 PM.
