On 20th September, actress Payal Ghosh alleged Anurag Kashyap of sexually assaulting her when she came to his residence to discuss work with him. She also filed an official complaint against the filmmaker regarding the same and has also met the head of National Commission for Women, Rekha Sharma, and many other powerful figures such as the Governor of Maharashtra Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Ramdas Athawale to discuss the details of the sexual misconduct and the case.
Recently, Payal Ghosh has pointed fingers towards the Indian cricketer, Irfan Pathan who, according to her, used to call himself a good friend of Payal, has kept shut despite knowing all the details about the sexual misconduct that she had to go through. She took to her Twitter handle and wrote, “I have definitely not talked about mr. kashyap raped me but I shared everything with @IrfanPathan about the conversations including (xyz) alas!! he is keeping mum inspite of knowing everything and once he claimed to be my good friend.”

She also wrote another tweet which read, “Not only we were good friends but I was his family friend. Let’s see dosti kaun kaun nibhate hai!!”

However, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has slashed out her allegations as baseless and his lawyer, Priyanka Khimani has also issued an official statement on his behalf saying that the allegations against him are completely false, malicious and dishonest.
