Malaika Arora celebrated Onam in Mumbai with her family. On the last day of Onam, the actress took to social media to share photos from her celebration with her family. Malaika and Amrita Arora are partly Malayalees because their mother Joyce Arora is from Kerala.
On Tuesday, Malaika took to her Instagram feed to share candid pictures from their Onam celebration at home along with pictures of the delicious Kerala sadya. “Happy onam. wishing everyone a very happy n prosperous onam ….. momsy you r the worlds best cook and feeding friends n family makes you the happiest,” wrote Malaika sharing the pictures.
Malaika is seen standing with her mother and sister Amrita Arora near their dining table in the first photo. A banana leaf is stretched out in front of each chair, with a couple of dishes on it. A festive pookalam (flower rangoli) is shown in the second image. The final image shows the sadya set out on the dining table, complete with all of the customary Kerala delicacies.
Malaika also shared recordings of her mum preparing dishes at home. After a big supper, visitors are asleep on the bed in the final image.
Farah Khan Kunder, Malaika’s close friend, responded to the photo by writing, “Call us also na one day Kameeniiii.”
Onam is an annual harvest festival in Kerala that is observed by the locals. It also denotes According to Hindu traditions, Onam is celebrated in Kerala to commemorate the exemplary governance under the rule of the mythical asura king Mahabali.
