India’s Academy Awards 2025 official entry announcement for Laapataa Ladies has recently prompted a response from Nitanshi Goel. The actor who portrayed the role of Phool in the satirical drama expressed her gratitude to Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao for trusting in her abilities. In a conversation with India Today, Nitanshi commented that they only gained international recognition because of the contributions made by Kiran and Aamir.

While talking about her excitement over the international success of Laapataa Ladies, Nitanshi said, “My phone has been ringing off the hook since I saw the news! But honestly, I’m in no position to complain. We all had a little celebration moment in our group chat on WhatsApp.” She added that she had been eagerly awaiting confirmation from Kiran about whether what she heard in the news was indeed accurate.

She further said, “The love we’ve received from the audience has been incredible, and now we’re being recognised internationally for the Oscars. This is all because of the audience, Kiran ma’am, and Aamir sir. I’m truly thankful to them for giving us wings to fly internationally. It’s such a beautiful, surreal moment. I’m definitely the one dancing the most here.”
