Nikhil Dwivedi says, want to make a biopic on Mamta Kulkarni

The 90’s diva, actress Mamta Kulkarni’s journey in Bollywood seems like a sensational mystery, coated with the frequent sweet-bitter experiences. Some of her well-acclaimed performances have been in movies such as – ‘ Aashiq Awara (1993), Waqt Hamara Hai (1993), Krantiveer (1994), Karan Arjun (1995), Sabse Bada Khiladi (1995), Andolan (1995), Baazi (1996), China Gate (1998) and Chhupa Rustam: A Musical Thriller (2001).

Rumour has it that the Dabangg-3 producer, Nikhil Diwedi, is keen to start working on his new project that will revolve around the sensational events that took place in the actress Mamta Kulkarni’s life. As per Times of India, ‘the producer has recently acquired the rights to Bilal Siddiqui’s book, ‘The Stardust Affair’- a book comprising the key events that occurred in her life. Her alleged relationship with gangster Dawood Ibrahim is one of the major astounding scandals that grabbed colossal attention from the media and the fans.

Mamta Kulkarni and her husband Vicky Goswami were also accused in the Rs 2,000 crore ephedrine drugs scandal. However, to her defense the actress released a statement, wherein, she said, “I have never engaged in any act contrary to the principles of Indian statutes and I am a victim of high-handedness, crude, an unprofessional and unethical conspiracy by the officers of the US’s Drug Enforcement Administration and the Thane police’.

Though the cast of the movie is still in question, it will be extremely interesting to watch that how Nikhil Diwedi is once again able to stir up the interest of the audience, and whether the movie will perhaps, benefit in rectifying the tarnished image of the actress amongst the people.
