NCB officer Sameer Wankhede’s wife Kranti Redkar: “Threats are part of his job, we can’t move out freely but I am proud of him”

NCB officer Sameer Wankhede’s wife and actress Kranti Redkar was recently displayed in an interview. Where she said “Threats are part of his job, we can’t move out freely but I am proud of him.”

The Narcotics Control Office Mumbai Area Director, Sameer Wankhede is a popular personality nowadays. As he appeared many a time, in the news for apprehending Bollywood king SRK’s son Aryan Khan. He detained Aryan along with 7 others in a drug raid case at a Mumbai cruise party, on 2nd October 2021.

However, Sameer Wankhede is a Mumbaikar by birth, who is well-known as Mumbai ‘Singham’ for his daring operations against the drug mafia in the city. Regarding his daring job, his wife and Marathi actress Kranti Redkar shared some of her personal experiences. In a recent interview, Kranti Redkar said, “I’ve seen blood on his pants, sometimes his clothes are ripped and I’m sure people don’t realize these things. I never asked him where he went and what he did. But doing a raid and fighting the mob of the drug”. It is not an easy task.”

Actress also added that “Ever after this, people don’t appreciate their work. I feel that there is no gratitude. If people are not even grateful then why is he doing this? It’s a kind of thankless job. But now things are changed. I must say that the entire media and people have supported the team for their work.”

In 2020, Zonal Director Wankhede and his team of five officers were attacked by a group of drug peddlers. Kranti quoted that “I think this is not the first time, there were so many attacks. There were cracks on his body and his arms were bruised. So when I ask him, he replied “Aise Hi Thodi Na Criminals Ko Pakdete Hai Hum”. She also added, “There are so many threats and it’s very risky. So, we only step out during our work. We can’t even move out freely with our children, it is really scary. I think this is a part and parcel of this job. But I am very proud of him”
