
hahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani’s intense love-drama, ‘Kabir Singh’ hit the box office last year and took the box office by a storm so intense that it broke many records and became Shahid Kapoor’s highest grossing film of his film career. Kabir Singh was a Hindi remake of Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey’s Telegu hit ‘Arjun Reddy’.
Recently, producer Murad Khetani in an interview to the Mumbai Mirror, shared that even he did not anticipate the kind of response the film got. “I had a feeling that it would work, but not this big!” Murad told the publication.
Murad is reuniting with his team on different projects. Reportedly, he is already working with Kiara on a horror comedy, which is said to be a sequel of a 2007 release. Murad is also looking forward to work with Shahid and is waiting for the right story. He has been further quoted by Mumbai Mirror as saying, “He did a wonderful job in Kabir Singh, which was a fun ride. I would love to work with Shahid again, as soon as we find the right story.”
Murad is collaborating with his director of ‘Kabir Singh’ Sandeep Reddy Vanga. After the success of ‘Kabir Singh’. Sandeep pitched a story to Murad and actor Ranbir Kapoor, which was liked by both of them and asked him to develop the story. “The script is locked. Before the lockdown brought everything to a standstill, Sandeep was writing and looking to narrate it in May or June. He is in Hyderabad right now and once things get back to normal, the narrations will happen and we will proceed with the casting,” the producer further told in the same interview. There were some speculations around the title of the film, which earlier was said to be ‘Devil’. “There is no title yet. All I can say is that it is an intense gangster drama. I am waiting to hear the final narration.” Murad further went on to tell the publication.
The horror-comedy which Murad is producing stars Kartik Aryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu. The shoot was stalled midway due to coronavirus outbreak. “There will be some monetary losses for all films. Our Lucknow schedule was called off midway. We will have to return to Lucknow to match continuously.” Said Murad.
Murad is also set to team up with Sidharth Malhotra on the official remake of Tamil hit,
‘Thadam’. The film features Sid in double role of a Businessman and a goon. The film was scheduled to kick of in Delhi from May with a marathon schedule
Mumbai Mirror has further quoted him as saying, “We will start our prep from July, monitor the situation and plan our shoot accordingly. We have permission to shoot in Mumbai, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. But filming in Delhi looks difficult right now, let’s hope for the best”.
