Today on August 19th,  Supreme Court passed its verdict on Sushant Singh Rajput’s alleged suicide case and stated that Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) shall take over the matter, hence nullifying the plea filed by Rhea Chakraborty of transfering the case from Patna to Mumbai. SC also has asked Mumbai Police to hand over all the vital evidences to CBI who will investigate further. According to Times Now, Mumbai Police is set to carry out a parallel inquiry on the same grounds.

Home Minister of Maharashtra- Anil Deshmukh had a briefing session with media, in which he said  “State Govt will cooperate with the SC order. Politics over this case happened in view of Bihar polls. But SC observed that Mumbai Police did the job in an efficient manner”, as put by Times Now. He added that Mumbai Police is about to carry out an investigation in the matter parallel to CBI. About various accusations on Mumbai Police for being unfair in the matter he commented “The politics over the actor’s death prevailed due to upcoming elections in Bihar, but as SC has made it clear that Mumbai Police was doing its job efficiently, all the politicians who defamed the police have got answers. ”

Apart from Sushant’s family and closed ones, a lot of people from film industry were seen pumped up with this verdict of Supreme Court over the case including Ankita Lokhande, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Kangana Ranaut, Kriti Sanon, Sooraj Pancholi and many more.
