Casting director Mukesh Chhabra has found himself in controversy after his recent comments while talking about the casting for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.
In a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia for his podcast, Mukesh shared his opinion on Raavan. “Yaar woh bhi toh pyaar mein hi they na (He was also in love, wasn’t he)?” Mukesh said. “He wanted revenge, but he was in love as well. As far as I understand Raavan, he was evil and vengeful, but his revenge was driven by love for his sister. He had to do what he had to do for his sister. Woh bhi apni taraf se theek they (He was right in his own way). In war, both sides believe they’re on the right side. But ultimately, Raavan was driven by love,” he continued.
He further added that everyone in Nitesh’s Ramayana is working with a determination to not commit any mistakes. He also mentioned that he is too scared to speak about the movie, considering “how things are in our country these days.”
Ranbir Kapoor is set to play the role of Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi will be playing the role of Goddess Sita. The movie will also feature KGF star Yash and Sunny Deol as Laxman and Lord Hanuman, respectively.
