Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyan Selvan shoot wrapped up, Chiyaan Vikram shares updates

Vikram has been busy for a long time shooting for Mani Ratnam’s “Ponniyan Selvan”. But recently Vikram’s manager updated his fans about the wrap up.

If you consider few names in the South Film Industry who have both mass appeal and remarkable acting prowess, the Chiyaan Vikram is surely one of the toppers in the list. He is known for being a bankable superstar as well as someone who can pull off any character with ease. His next film, Ponniyan Selvan was creating curiosity among the fans as no updates were shares either from makers or the lead actors.

But recently a sigh of relief came for the fans when the lead actor Vikram himself shared about the wrap of the film. We all know that Vikram does not manages his social media accounts himself so his manager wrote on Twitter, “It’s a wrap for #AdithyaKarikalan #ChiyaanVikram sir has completed shooting for his portions in #PonniyinSelvan (both first and second part).”

Not much has been has been revealed about the film but we know that it is based on a book of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The film is a period drama narrating the story of Rajaraja Chola I and his flourishing empire that once ruled the southern part of India. The film aims to reach Pan Indian audience by including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan the cast.

As per the reports Academy Award winning music director, A.R. Rahman will be composing the music for the film. The shooting began in 2019 but due to the pandemic a year later, shooting has been halted two times.

Vikram was last seen in 2019 film Kadaram Londan and after that all his films have either been postponed or delayed.
