Koffee with Karan Season 8’s most recent episode, which aired on Thursday, featured the gorgeous Kapoor sisters, Janhvi and Khushi. The episode gave viewers a peek into several aspects of the siblings’ lives through a combination of thought-provoking conversations, amusing banter, and personal stories. In the open conversation, Khushi shared her early experience with internet trolling, describing how it started when she was just 11 years old.
She also shared a heartwarming scene from her first movie, The Archies, in which it was revealed that their father, Boney Kapoor, wept for three days straight after seeing the film.
During their chat, host Karan Johar brought up the topic of internet trolling and asked Khushi Kapoor if she keeps an eye on hate comments and how it impacts her. The young actress replied by adding that while she tries not to read comments of this kind, she admits that she can’t resist the urge to see what others have to say about her. She recalled that when she was only eleven or twelve years old, she came across her first hateful comment about herself.
Khushi went on to say that as you experience this kind of negativity over and over again, you eventually realize that it’s not caused by anything tangible but rather by people projecting their own fears onto you.
The actress continued by revealing that, out of his four children—Janhvi, Arjun, Anshula, and herself—she is her father Boney Kapoor’s favourite. She related a heartwarming story of her father breaking down in tears the first time he saw her debut movie, The Archies, and how this emotional condition lasted for three days. He was so proud that he texted her at random, saying things like, “You are just so good, beta.” The actress felt these messages were cute and sweet.
After this disclosure, KJo asked Janhvi Kapoor if Boney had given the same kind of approval when her first movie, Dhadak, came out. The actress replied that yes, he did cry and everything, but that there was something special about the way he cried for Khushi. She also reminisced about their early years, when Boney would play with Khushi after coming home from work in the middle of the day, saying, “Now I am recharged, Now I’ll go back to work,” to which Janhvi would playfully point out her presence with, “Hi, I’m also here.”
