Kareena Kapoor Khan was caught off guard upon hearing the name ‘Shahid’. Her facial expressions were quickly masked after the name was brought up. But before you jump the gun and think that it was a mention of her ex boyfriend Shahid Kapoor, that was not the case. She and Hansal Mehta were asked about the movie ‘Shahid’.
Kareena attended the trailer launch of her recent film The Buckingham Murders. The actress stars and co-produces the thriller. This is Kareena’s first-time collaboration with Hansal Mehta. A scribe praised Hansal during the trailer launch over his film Shahid. “Aapka track record dekha hai humne, aapne Shahid jaisi film banayi hai jo National Award winning film hai. Ye jo murder mystery hai, isme bhi bahut sensitive issue jhuda hua hai — isiliye maine Shahid ka zikr kiya. Toh inn dono ko script and director ke level pe, kitna difficult tha?” the reporter asked.
Shahid had hit theatres in 2010 and it featured Rajkummar Rao in the lead. The film was based on the life of lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi, who was murdered in 2010. The movie critically acclaimed and went on to win two National Awards – Best Actor and Best Director – at the 61st National Film Awards.
