Kangana Ranaut recently opened up about why she missed the much-talked-about wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, despite of receiving a personal invitation from the groom himself.
During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, the actress revealed that it was because of her younger brother’s wedding on the same date, which caused her to remain absent from the Ambani wedding.
She also added that she generally prefers to avoid attending high-profile film industry weddings, even though she wishes the couple well.
“I got a call from Anant Ambani, and he is such a lovely boy,” said Kangana. She added that the groom asked her to come at his wedding, but she informed him that her brother is getting married on the same day. “Khair, aese bhi main avoid hi karti hoon zyada filmy shaadiyon mein jaana,” continued Kangana.
The grand wedding of the Ambanis was held on July 12 in Mumbai. It was a star studded event with notable personalities from Bollywood – Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, Suhana Khan, Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan and his whole family – sports world – Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar – and business world as well attended.
