Late actress Jiah Khan’s mother has been struggling for justice for the past 8 years. She has welcomed the court’s decision about transferring the case to Special CBI court.
The actress was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her apartment in Juhu on June 3, 2013. Jiah’s death was considered suicide. Later, her mother Rabia claimed that actor Suraj Pancholi, whom the actress used to date, has murdered her. After five years of Jiah’s death, in 2018, the court had charged Suraj Pancholi for abetment of suicide.
In conversation with ETimes, Rabia told, “The innocent Jiah had no fault. A wise decision by the court now. CBI will retrieve evidence from Maharashtra police after nine years. CBI has Scarman’s report, experts forensic report, they need to send evidence to forensics to analyze whether the ligature could imprint just injuries on Jiah. We expect applaudable answers to the truth because Jiah would never take her life, and she was killed beyond a reasonable doubt.”
Jiah Khan made her Bollywood debut with the 2007 movie, Nishabdh, which was directed by Ram Gopal Varma and also starred Amitabh Bachchan. Later she was seen in movies like Chance Pe Dance and Ghajini. The movie ‘Housefull’ released in 2010, was her last film.
