Jennifer Lopez filmed a “get ready with me” video for Allure ahead of the Met Gala and released the video on her skin and body care company’s Instagram, JLO Beauty, showing all it takes to make her skin red carpet perfect.
The multi-hyphenate’s makeup-free look began with her hair pulled back and a golden silk tank top. She shows off her “holy grail,” the JLO Glow beauty serum, which she used to apply a few pumps to her cheeks and neck for a beautiful glow. She used her JLO Beauty That Big Screen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Moisturiser to protect her skin from the sun’s UV rays while addressing a misperception about herself.
While applying her makeup, she added that people took her as a bronzy, as someone who is always exposed to sun, but in reality, the actress did self-tan. “But no sun and sunscreen every single day.” Lopez said.
After she was “fully hydrated” and “ready to go,” her makeup artist, Ash K. Holm, described the makeup look, which included the products such as eye lashes and lip serums and liners among other things, for the big night.
The diva made striking appearance at the white carpet-covered staircase of this year’s Met Gala. She posed in a Ralph Lauren halter gown and pink silk satin skirt, both of which were produced entirely by hand, including her floral collar. She complimented her look with towering platforms and black silk evening gloves, as well as a Lorraine Schwartz pink ring with almost 10 carats of genuine pink diamonds.
She told La La Anthony for Vogue on the red carpet that she wasn’t sure about the final accessory, a leather beret adorned with fishnet material, but grew to adore it, saying that she wasn’t sure about the hat, but now she’s really feeling it.
