Jaya Bachchan reveals her take on Amitabh Bachchan doing movie with Rekha

Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha have always been a powerhouse and a favorite on-screen couple of Bollywood. They have grown to have intense screen presence whenever they have shared the screen. However, after Silsila, they never got an opportunity to work in the same project again. Now, the forgotten statement of Jaya Bachchan which shows whether she would like Amitabh to work with Rekha again or not is going viral.

Talking to People magazine, as reported by Rediff in 2008, the veteran actress was asked if it bothered her if Amitabh and Rekha were to work together again. The actress answered saying “No, why should I mind? But I feel it will be more like a sensation than actual work. And that’s a pity because one will miss the opportunity of seeing them together. Both of them probably realise it will go beyond work.”

Some of the best movies by Sr. Bachchan and Rekha includes Namak Haraam, Do Anjane, Khoon Pasina, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Mr Natwarlal and Suhaag. But the most memorable film that they did till date would be Silsila which also starred Jaya Bachchan. Since then the duo have not worked together and the reason for the same has been said to be their rumored love affair which had gone viral.

Amitabh and Jaya has been married for 51 years now and they have built a lovely family together. The couple got married on June 3, 1973.
