Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali filed a police report after their cook allegedly threatened them and their two-year-old daughter Tara. On Thursday evening, Mahhi posted a series of tweets accusing a cook she and Jay Bhanushali had hired just days before of stealing from them. In the now-deleted tweets, Mahhi stated that the police were releasing him on bail and that she was concerned for herself and her family. She claimed that the man threatened her with a khanjar.
She did, however, speak about it and confirmed it in a later interview.
She stated that the cook was drunk and started hurling abuses at them when he was denied full months’ payment. She even added that she was very concerned for her daughter’s safety over hers.
According to reports, Mahhi and Jay eventually filed a police complaint, and the cook was arrested but later released on bail. Mahhi, who appeared dissatisfied with the man’s release, stated, “When we went to the police station, he kept calling me. I have every recording. It’s terrifying to see what’s going on everywhere. What happens if he stabs me? So, what’s the point? I’m concerned about the safety of my family. I heard he’ll be released on bail. What if he actually recruits men after being released from prison and targets us?”
