Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has made news for her role in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar case. She subsequently responded to officials under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, who had linked multiple Fixed Deposits to her.
The authorities seized her investments when Jacqueline’s identity was revealed in the 200-crore money laundering case involving conman Sukesh. According to ANI, the actress has now stated that her FDs are unrelated to Sukesh and were made before the conman ‘existed.’
“The actor in a reply to adjudicating authorities of PMLA maintained that the Fixed Deposits, attached vide the challenged judgement, have no linkage with a crime nor are the Fixed Deposits generated by utilising the alleged proceeds of crime,” ANI tweeted on Wednesday. “The deposits are from the actor’s “own legitimate revenue and far earlier in time from even knowing that the main accused Chandrashekhar ever existed on this planet,” according to another tweet.

The actress was sighted at Mumbai airport earlier today. She wasn’t her normal chirpy self with the photographers, who snapped her as she strolled in without posing. She appeared to be dodging the photographers as she went by them inside the airport. She also held a tablet and a copy of ‘The Palace of Illusions.’ For those who are unaware, Jacqueline has been identified as an accused in the Enforcement Directorate’s charge sheet in the extortion case involving Sukesh.
The ED charge sheet said unequivocally that “During the investigation, the ‘Housefull 2’ actor’s comments were recorded on 30.08.2021 and 20.10.2021. Jacqueline revealed that she got three expensive bags from Gucci, Chanel, and two Gucci outfits for gym use. A set of Louis Vuitton shoes 2 sets of diamond earrings, a multi-coloured stone bracelet, and 2 Hermes bands She was also given a Mini Cooper, which she promptly returned.”
On the professional front, Jacqueline was recently featured in a cameo role in Kichcha Sudeepa’s ‘Vikrant Rona,’ her first pan-India film. She will soon be featured in ‘Ram Setu,’ directed by Abhishek Sharma, with Akshay Kumar and Nushratt Bharuccha. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on Diwali 2022. She is also working on Rohit Shetty’s ‘Cirkus’ with Ranveer Singh.
