Ramya Krishna (born Ramya Krishnan, but still known professionally as Ramya Krishnan; 15 September 1970 in Chennai) s a successful multilingual actress in commercial Indian cinema. She has acted in over 200 films in five languages: Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Krishnan has won three Filmfare Awards, two Nandi Awards and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award. She has played such diverse roles as a glam-doll, a caring wife, a devoted mom, an arrogant vamp and even a goddess.

Here are some interesting facts about Ramya Krishnan.

1. She was born on 15th September 1970 and Cho Ramaswamy, an Indian comedian and actor is her uncle

2. Ramya did movies in more than 200 films in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu.

3. She has learnt various dance forms including Kuchipudi, Bharathanatyam and Western as well as did a number of stage shows.
4. At the age of 13, Ramya put her step in the industry and made her debut in a Malayalam movie, Neram Pularumbol. Then she appeared in Tamil movie Vellai Manasu in 1985.

5. She was just 13 when she stepped in the film industry in the year 1984 and acted in Neram Pularumbol, a Malayalam movie; however, the release of the flick was delayed and people got to see her for the first time in Tamil movie Vellai Manasu, which hit the theatres in 1985.

6. She is the popular face not only in South but she has done many films in Bollywood too. She has done movies with legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Vinod Khanna in Parampara, Sanjay Dutt in Khalnayak, Nana Patekar in Wajood and Govinda in Banarasi Babu.

7. She got hitched with Telugu director, Krishna Vamsi on 12th June 2013. They have a son named Ritwik.

8. The role of Sivagami was first offered to Sridevi but she quoted a very high price after which makers approached Ramya for the character and the rest is history. “Baahubali” is one of the best movies of her filmy career.
