In an interview, Neena recalls telling Masaba to not become an actor here in India. She told her she can go abroad and try her hand in acting but not here in India. According to Neena, given her looks and her body, she will always get fewer roles in Indian cinema. The actress also told her daughter she can never become Hema Malini or Alia Bhatt.
However, Masaba recently featured on the OTT platform in her own web series ‘Masaba Masaba’ alongside her veteran mother. The mother-daughter duo received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike.
Neena Gupta also opened up about all the things she had to go through even on the professional front because of the image that was created of her. She also added that she used to get all negative roles of a dominating woman in the household in because she feels a strong woman means a negative woman in our films.
