In an interview recently conducted Arshad Warsi was asked about Kalki 2898 AD, which had released recently, and he was not so inclined to appreciate the movie. He said that he did not like the performance of Prabhas to the extend that he could call the actor a ‘joker’. Despite that, Arshad appreciated Amitabh Bachchan’s work as Ashwatthama in the movie. His comments about Prabhas have since circulated on social media and provoked quite a lot of reactions. A large number of those who are passionate for the Baahubali actor shared the same disappointment in the words of the actor. Turning up the heat on the raging Bollywood Vs South debate, an old video of director SS Rajamouli has gone viral on social media.
In a video which goes back to the promotions of Prabhas’ film Billa in 2007, SS Rajamouli had compared Hrithik Roshan and Prabhas. He said that he felt let down when Dhoom 2 was released in 2006, and saw how polished the Bollywood movies were and wished that the heroes of Telugu films were like Hrithik. Yet, after watching the song, poster, and trailer of Billa, Rajamouli said that Hrithik Roshan was no match with Prabhas adding that the Telugu cinema had come up quite a lot and was now equally or even better to Bollywood and English cinema.
Uploaded on X (previously, Twitter), the video has triggered the most severe reactions from the netizens. The user captioned the video, “@ssrajamouli If you cud blabber utter nonsense, then #ArshadWarsi is absolutely justified!
