The Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen Elizabeth II’s husband, Prince Philip has passed away at the age of 99; the statement issued by the palace reported.

The statement said, ” It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”

The details are still awaited, and for which the official Twitter handle of The Royal Family says, “Further announcement will be made in the due course. The Royal Family will join people around the world in mourning his loss” .

The Windsor Castle soon will receive other members of the Royal Family. Meanwhile, the national flag across the United Kingdom is expected to be lowered to half-mast.
