Did Arijit Singh accept Pasoori remake offer for charity? Here’s what we know

The original song has been sung by Pakistani artists Ali Sethi and Shae Gill

Arijit Singh, the singing sensation, has donated his vocals to the remake of the classic Pakistani song Pasoori for Satya Prem Ki Katha. Ali Sethi and Shae Gill sang the original song.

On Monday morning, the creators released the recreated song ‘Pasoori Nu’ from Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s next film. While the remake received the expected outrage, an unconfirmed Twitter account under the name Arijit Singh says that he accepted the offer for charity.

The tweet read, “Ek aur baat mere sunne walon ko batana chahta hoon I am overwhelmed with your love for me now I seek for your love for others too. mujhe pyar karne ke chakkar me mujhe defend karne lage hoaur bakion se joojh rahe ho apna time waste kar rahe ho.”

When a Twitter user asked, “Sir why not reject a song like that as a no. 1 singer of Bollywood?”, the account posted a reply, “Well The maker has promised me a yearly fund for a school for under privileged thats more important thode gaali kha lenge.”

Kartik and Kiara are seen lip-syncing to the songs while twinning in white in Pasoori Nu. Tulsi Kumar sang the female vocals. In 2022, Pasoori was the most-searched song on Google.

Satya Prem Ki Katha, meantime, will be released in theatres on June 29. The love film, directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, reunites Kartik and Kiara after their 2022 success Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Satya originally named Satyanarayan Ki Katha, the film tells the narrative of Satyanarayan, another name for the Hindu God Vishnu. However, due to public outcry, it was renamed Satyaprem Ki Katha.
