Alia Bhatt has suggested that she has in fact changed her name after the marriage to Ranbir Kapoor. The actors tied the knot in April 2022, and in the months following that appeared together with their newly born daughter Raha Kapoor. Recently, during her appearance on the TV show – The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show, Alia went completely unexpected as she formally announced the new addition of ‘Kapoor’ to her surname while interacting with Sunil Grover on the show.
Ranbir and the actor-mother Neetu Kapoor were also featured in the edited promo that was posted by Netflix India on Instagram with a caption, “Bhatt-er pick your sides for this face-off…” Alia is here to promote her movie Jigra, while Ranbir and Neetu were part of the show in the previous season.
Here’s what actually happened: During one of the comedies when the Sunil was in the outfit of his new show character Dafli, Alia’s name cropped up in the conversation. Sunil, to everyone’s surprise came up to her and said ‘Alia Bhatt’ with laughter, this was corrected by Alia saying ‘Alia Bhatt Kapoor’.
Speaking of the movie Jigra, the movie portrays the relationship of siblings, with Vedang Raina playing the role of Alia’s brother in the movie.
