BiggBoss 13 fame Devoleena Bhattacharjee is now in the news for being approached by Colors. It is reported that she was offered the role of grown-up Bondita in the Colors’ show Barrister Babu.
While it’s uncertain if she was approached by producer Sumeet Mittal or not but the reports are claiming that the actress was approached certainly, but was rejected as she demanded a lot for the same. A source told Pinkvilla, “Given the budget constraints currently the following lockdown and with broadcasters slashing at last 30 per cent of the production budget, the makers were left in dilemma over the remuneration. Hence, they decided to speak to the concerned authorities and after ensuring that complete safety measures would be taken, came to the conclusion of retaining Aurra as their lead and not tweak the script, as per initial plans.”
The source has been further quoted as saying, “Devoleena was paid around 90K when she left Saath Nibhana Saathiya, and now with the popularity, she has received since BB 13, the actress didn’t want to settle for any less.”
Producer Sumeet Mittal has denied the news of him approaching Devoleena for the show, he clarified that Aurra Bhatnagar will continue as their lead.
Producer Mittal further told TOI, “We haven’t approached anyone and are not even considering any other artiste to step into the shoes of Aurra. We plan to continue with her, as there is a lot in the story to explore with her.”
