Conor McGregor, the UFC superstar, was detained by the police of Corsica over alleged sexual assault attempt and indecent exposure.
According to his spokesperson, he was interviewed and then released.
Statements were released by McGregor’s lawyer as well as a spokesperson.
McGregor’s lawyer, Audie Attar said, “I am irate and putting out a warning loud and clear: Conor McGregor is not and will not be a target for those seeking to score a headline or a payday.” The statement by his spokesperson said, “Conor McGregor vigorously denies any accusations of misconduct. He has been interviewed and released.”
In a statement given to AFP, the prosecutor’s office said, “Following a complaint filed on September 10 denouncing acts that could be described as attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition, Mr. Conor Anthony McGregor was the subject of a hearing by the gendarmerie services.”
