Fans have eagerly anticipating the release of Nushrratt Bharuccha’s flick Chhorii since the film’s posters were released. Another attempt by the Hindi film industry to tackle the horror genre has piqued the interest of cinephiles. The film’s teaser was released a few days ago, and it certainly gives a flavour of the terrifying journey that the film may turn out to be. Nushrratt, who is most known for her performance in Pyaar Ka Punchnama, is portrayed in a fresh light as a pregnant mother. Mita Vashisht, Rajesh Jais, Saurabh Goyal, and Yaanea Bharadwaj star with Nushrratt in the film. The film’s trailer was released only a few moments ago, and it looks thrilling enough to keep you on the edge of your seat.

The trailer begins with a couple (Nushrratt and Saurabh) travelling to a remote spot away from the hustle and bustle of city life. They appear to be fleeing from something that has been following them. They had no idea, however, that their haven in the village would reveal genuine terror and otherworldly components. Nushratt’s character is in her third trimester of pregnancy, and she is shown attempting to figure out what is beyond a locked door alongside their home. The plot revolves around Sunaini, a ‘dayan’ with a wicked heart who is allegedly preying on the protagonist’s unborn child.

In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Nushrratt talked about a bodysuit that she wore for 20 days before shooting the movie. “As I’m not actually going to become pregnant for now in reality, I had them make that bodysuit for me to feel what a woman bearing child actually goes through. I was wearing it 20-25 days before the film’s shoot started and literally did all of my chores including eating, sleeping, going to the bathroom, roaming around and everything else to understand the restrictions that it comes with. I had to put myself in it to be able to self-learn everything that’s related to pregnancy, and then bring them on set with a more realistic facet that the masses can connect to. Though it wasn’t a prop for me but a part of me, I became so used to it that when the shooting began, I felt more comfortable while resting in between the rehearsals in the body suit,” said Nushrratt.

T-Series, Crypt TV, and Abudantia Entertainment are producing the film, which is based on the 2017 Marathi film Lapachhapi. On November 26th, Chhorii will be released on an OTT platform.
