Ever since the announcement of the film ‘Prithviraj’ in 2020, it has been into many controversies. The Devnarayan temple located in Vaishali Nagar, Ajmer, has ganged up with the Gurjar community to hold a protest against the term ‘Rajput’ used for Prithviraj in the forthcoming film.
They have submitted a memorandum about their demands to the District Collector’s office and have also blocked the roads over there. The protesters have threatened to halt the screening of the film if their demands get dismissed.
The president of All India Veer Gurjar Samaj Reform Committee, Harchand Gurjar, demanded that “the title of the film Prithviraj should be changed and the facts of history should not be played with anywhere everything should be shown honestly in the film and the film should incorporate the emperor’s full name Prithviraj Chauhan.” he further added.
The community affirms that the ruler was from their community. The Gurjar community has also asked to show them the first screening before the movie hit theatres.
Some people are trending #BoycottPrithvirajMovie because of their own preference to show Prithviraj Chauhan as Gujjar or Rajput
