Bobby Deol opens up about his character’s lesser screen time in Animal: “It’s not the length of the role…”

Animal was released on the 1st of December globally and is doing wonders at the box office. On its very third day of release, the film has minted Rs 300 crore, breaking records of SRK starrer Jawan and Tiger 3. Fans are in awe of the entire film and completely love the whole narrative. Bobby Deol’s dark character is also cherished in large numbers and the audience wishes he would have been for a longer time on the screen.

After the film’s release, fans were disappointed about Bobby Deol’s character’s less time on screen. Recently, the actor opened up about this ongoing talk and addressed the nature of his character Abrar Haque.

Bobby Deol stated, “It’s not the length of the role, it is the kind of the character which has so much substance. I wish I had more scenes but when I signed the film, I knew this is what I had. At that point in my life, I was grateful to God that I was given this chance to play this role by Sandeep. I knew I had only 15 days of work and wouldn’t be there throughout the film. I was sure people would notice me, but I never realised that there would be so much love, appreciation and affection. It’s like wow! It’s amazing,” as reported by HT.

Bobby Deol even talked about his character. He stated that his role in Animal was of the character that is obsessed with revenge. He says he approached the character without being judgemental and surrendering to the attitude of the antagonist. The actor is also grateful for all the love fans have showered on his character.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri and Shakti Kapoor in pivotal roles. The film is based on an action-drama genre, revolving around the obsessive father-son relationship. It was released on the 1st of December and had a box office clash with Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur.
